Binance has announced the launch of its “Blockchain for Vietnam” initiative, while the Net Zero Challenge has flagged off its third edition.
Binance launches ‘Blockchain for Vietnam’ initiative
Binance, the world’s leading blockchain ecosystem and cryptocurrency infrastructure provider, has announced the launch of its “Blockchain for Vietnam” initiative, committing an initial investment of more than $1 million over the next two years to empower the next generation of blockchain leaders.
Running from July 2025 to July 2027, the initiative underscores Binance’s long-term commitment to helping advance Vietnam as a future leader and regional hub for digital assets and blockchain technology. This effort fully aligns with the Vietnamese government’s strategic tech agenda to promote blockchain innovation and strengthen the country’s digital economy.
The initiative comes at a pivotal time as Vietnam accelerates its efforts to integrate blockchain and digital asset technologies into its economic and technological development road map.
“We are proud to deepen our investment in Vietnam’s future,” said Richard Teng, CEO of Binance. “By empowering educators, nurturing young talent, and piloting real-world blockchain use cases, we aim to contribute to Vietnam’s vision of becoming a global center for digital innovation and technological leadership. Vietnam has enormous potential to lead the region’s blockchain adoption, and we are honored to support this journey.”
Binance’s initial $1-million investment will be allocated across three core pillars as part of the first phase of the Binance Blockchain for Vietnam initiative: empowering educators through train-the-trainers program, driving industry innovation with pilot projects, and supporting the next generation of blockchain leaders.
Net Zero Challenge launches third edition
Vietnam’s climate innovation competition, Net Zero Challenge 2025, has officially launched its third edition, according to an announcement.
Co-organised by Touchstone Partners and Temasek Foundation, this innovation challenge is in partnership with the Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Studies (HIDS) and supported by a global network of innovation partners.
In 2025, participating teams will compete for a total prize pool of 15 billion Vietnamese dong ($574,000) in non-dilutive cash grants awarded to the three winning pilot solutions.
Additional investment and in-kind support will be provided by the challenge’s partners, totalling over 6 billion Vietnamese dong ($230,000) in additional prizes.
This year’s programme is supported by leading corporates and venture capital firms with a focus on climate and deep-tech innovation. Strategic partner GS Engineering & Construction joins the challenge for the first time.
Key investor partners include Touchstone Partners as well as Investible, an early-stage venture capital firm headquartered in Australia with a strong presence across Southeast Asia; and AiViet Ventures, a Vietnam-focused VC firm backing high-impact tech-based startups. Amazon Web Services is also a Knowledge Partner of the Challenge, providing in-kind support for the startups.
In partnership with Temasek Foundation, Touchstone Partners will also provide local mentorship and strategic partnerships to startups on top of the investment prizes.
