Indian growth private equity fund TVS Capital Funds (TCF) has appointed Shyam Srinivasan as senior advisor and operating partner. Meanwhile, Chad W Phillips has been appointed as the global head of Nuveen Real Estate, the investment manager of TIAA, a global investor managing public and private assets for institutional and individual investors.
Former Federal Bank chief joins TVS Capital Funds
TVS Capital Funds has appointed Shyam Srinivasan as a senior advisor and operating partner.
Srinivasan has over three decades of experience in banking and financial services. He served as the Managing Director and CEO of Federal Bank between September 2010 and September 2024, wherein he spearheaded the lender’s national expansion, advanced its digital banking capabilities, and strengthened asset quality.
TVS Capital Funds, a growth private equity (PE) fund manager with a 17-year legacy, is one of the largest rupee capital funds, focusing on investments in financial services and technology. TCF manages approximately Rs 5,000 crore ($584 million) across Fund 3 and Fund 4.
“With the launch of our fourth fund, TVS Capital is sharpening its focus on both control investing and partnering in transformational growth,” Gopal Srinivasan, Chairman and Managing Director of TVS Capital Funds, said in a statement.
Nuveen Real Estate appoints global head
Nuveen, the investment manager of TIAA, announced that Chad W. Phillips will serve as the Global Head of Nuveen Real Estate as the firm activates its long-standing succession plans following Chris McGibbon’s decision to retire after nearly 25 years of service.
In this role, Phillips will be responsible for $141 billion in assets under management (AUM) of commercial real estate equity and debt investments extending across 22 countries globally. He will also chair the Nuveen Real Estate Global Executive Leadership Team, which oversees the platform’s strategic initiatives, per a statement issued by the firm.
With nearly 25 years of experience in real estate investing and portfolio management, Phillips joined Nuveen in 2019. Most recently, he led a global team of dedicated sector specialists that focus on workplace, healthcare, retail, and mixed-use investments, overseeing the strategy, performance, and day-to-day investment and fundraising activities across those sectors.
