Former L Catterton managing partner Ravi Thakran, who recently launched a Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC), is currently scouting for American and European brands that appeal to consumers across Generations Z and Alpha in Asia.
The brands that are in Thakran’s line of sight could span sectors such as health and wellness to spirits, that are digitally-native and socially-responsible – the ones that could define consumer trends for the time to come.
The New York Post, in a recent report, said lifestyle brand Goop, founded by actress Gwyneth Paltrow, was a likely target for Thakran’s blank-check company. Asked on Goop, Thakran declined to comment and said the “SPAC will focus on the consumption of tomorrow.”
