P2P lending startup Amartha has secured an e-money licence from Indonesia’s central bank, while extended-stay operator Kozystay has acquired BaliSuperHost, Bali’s leading villa management company.
Amartha to roll out digital wallet Poket
Amartha has secured an e-money licence from Indonesia’s central bank, a move which allows it to roll out its digital wallet — Poket — on its AmarthaFin app.
At a media event in Jakarta on Tuesday, Amartha founder and CEO Andi Taufan Garuda Putra said the e-money launch is designed to give rural communities broader access to modern financial services, including payments, investments, and capital financing, all integrated into the AmarthaFin app.
“The economic potential in rural areas is enormous but underutilised. Through Amartha Financial, we’re building services tailored to their needs to foster financial inclusion and local economic growth,” he said.
At the same time, the company has rebranded as Amartha Financial Group, which will operate three licensed subsidiaries: PT Amartha Finansial Asia (e-money), PT Amartha Mikro Fintek (p2p lending), and PT Amartha Warbler Finance (leasing, acquired from Bosowa Multi Finance and then rebranded its legal entity).
On its AmarthaFin app, which was launched a few years back, it has updated some features in a new version, including zakat distribution, agents, bill payments (PPOB), and more, with strategic partnerships. The app also offers features that allow investors to fund MSMEs in rural areas with appropriate returns, serving as a bridge between local communities and both national and global investors.
Kozystay acquires BaliSuperHost
Indonesia’s extended-stay operator Kozystay has acquired BaliSuperHost, Bali’s leading villa management company, for an undisclosed amount, according to the company’s statement.
The announcement was made shortly after its Series A funding release, which was first reported by DealStreetAsia.
The acquisitions will help Kozystay’s ambition oversee a portfolio of over 1,000 properties, including apartments, villas, and aparthotels, within this year.
By bringing BaliSuperHost, Kozystay not only solidifies its leadership in Bali—a global hotspot for short-term rentals—but also consolidates its stronghold in Jakarta and Bandung.
Headquartered in Ubud, BaliSuperHost has managed more than 400 villas, hosting 600,000 guests, earning 20,000 positive reviews, and employing over 1,200 staff, since its inception in 2021.
According to Kozystay CEO and Co-Founder Dane Putranto, this acquisition is more than portfolio growth—it’s about leveraging synergies. By combining Kozystay’s tech capabilities with BaliSuperHost’s operational excellence, the goal is to elevate guest experiences, boost efficiency, and improve returns for property owners. This aligns with Kozystay’s vision of transforming Indonesia’s alternative accommodation industry.
