Asia’s digital wealth management platform Endowus on Monday announced leadership changes and new hires to strengthen its investment team in Hong Kong.
Endowus, which recorded over $7 billion in total group client assets in Hong Kong and Singapore as of December 2024, announced in a statement that co-founder and chairman Samuel Rhee will serve as Group CIO to focus on the group’s overall investment strategy, including at multi-family office Carret Private in Hong Kong.
Hugh Chung takes over the reins as chief investment officer (CIO), overseeing the integration of investment functions and strategies across the firm.
In Hong Kong, Janet Hung, who joined Endowus from Nomura in October 2024, was appointed head of client advisory to lead the management of relations for individual clients, family offices, and institutional clients.
Jasmine Chan, previously a director at Credit Suisse, now leads Endowus’s investment office in Hong Kong, overseeing local portfolio construction and investment solutions.
“Endowus is experiencing rapid expansion and heightened interest as we broaden our investment solutions and global partnerships. In January 2025, we recorded unprecedented inflows in Hong Kong, signalling a market need for conflict-free wealth management,” said Gregory Van, co-founder and CEO of Endowus, in the statement.
“To further our commitment to the market, we will double the size of the local workforce. Our recent leadership appointments in Hong Kong reinforce our market presence with adjustments in our investment office setting the foundation for future growth,” said Van.
The leadership updates followed Endowus’s fundraising development in January, when the Singapore-headquartered wealth manager raised an additional $17.5 million to bring its Series B financing to $52.5 million.
It has raised a total of $110 million in funding over the years from investors such as UBS, EDBI, Prosus Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Citi Ventures, MUFG Innovation Partners, and SBVA, previously known as SoftBank Ventures Asia.
Founded in 2017, Endowus is led by Gregory Van and Rhee, former investment bankers and fund managers from Morgan Stanley Asset Management and UBS.
The firm launched its digital wealth management services in Hong Kong in April 2022, allowing investors to build single- and multi-fund portfolios via the Endowus Fund Smart solution. Hong Kong is Endowus’s first overseas expansion market after Singapore.
