Swiss impact investor responsAbility Investments AG is increasing its support for sustainable farming with new investments in agribusinesses in India and Vietnam.

The firm is providing debt financing to Qul Fruitwall, a vertically integrated horticulture startup based in the Kashmir region of northern India, and to Nafoods Group JSC, one of Southeast Asia’s top fruit processing and export companies headquartered in Vietnam, per two separate announcements.

Both investments align with responsAbility’s mission to promote climate resilience, rural livelihoods, and food security through targeted support for innovative agribusinesses across the value chain.

Qul, headquartered in Srinagar, operates across the entire temperate horticulture value chain, offering end-to-end solutions including the development and management of high-density orchards, the production of regenerative agri-inputs, integrated cold chain infrastructure and market distribution.

To date, the company has developed over 10,000 high-density smallholder farms in Kashmir and is now expanding to other temperate crops and geographies in the Indian Himalayas.

The investment will be used to expand Qul’s controlled atmosphere cold storage infrastructure, scale its pole manufacturing facility, and meet the working capital needs of the business, per the announcement.

Meanwhile, the financing provided by responsAbility to Nafoods Group JSC will be used to finance working capital and capex for the increase in processing capacity.

“This investment is an important source of additional capital, enabling us to be more proactive in capturing business opportunities and implementing the Group’s medium- to long-term growth strategy. The partnership with responsAbility not only provides financial resources but also reaffirms confidence in Nafoods’ sustainable vision. We believe this collaboration will create long-term value for our shareholders, customers, farmers, and communities,” said Nguyen Manh Hung, CEO of Nafoods Group.

Founded in 1995, Nafoods Group JSC is one of the leading fruit processors and exporters in the region. With a diverse portfolio including fruit juice/NFC, puree, concentrate, IQF, dried fruits, and fresh fruits, Nafoods currently serves customers in more than 70 countries worldwide.
