ACEN acquires 25% stake in CIP-owned wind project

ACEN, the listed energy company of Ayala Group, is acquiring a 25% stake in an offshore wind project from global fund manager Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP)

The San Miguel Bay offshore wind project in Camarines Sur has a potential installed capacity of up to 1 gigawatt (GW) and is poised to become the Philippines’ first large-scale offshore wind project.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition is subject to applicable regulatory approvals. CIP and its Growth Markets Fund II have sought a local partner with deep expertise in stakeholder management to advance the project.

Positioned as among the most advanced offshore wind initiatives in the country, the project is in its pre-development stage in anticipation of the Department of Energy’s fifth round of the Green Energy Auction.

The deal comes as CIP, which has invested in Asian markets such as India, Vietnam, South Korea, and Taiwan, closed its fifth flagship fund above its 12 billion euro ($13 billion) target.

The firm did not reveal how much capital the fund ultimately raised. The capital raised did not include co-investment commitments, it said. CIP is the world’s largest dedicated fund manager within greenfield energy investments.

AC Health partners with Becton Dickinson

Ayala Healthcare Holdings Inc. (AC Health), a wholly-owned subsidiary of conglomerate Ayala Corporation, has partnered with international medical technology firm Becton Dickinson as part of its three-year expansion plan.

AC Health currently operates hospitals and clinics through its Healthway Medical Network, which consists of 236 corporate and multispecialty clinics and six hospitals.

The expansion plan includes growing its ecosystem to 1,150 retail pharmacies, 300 clinics, and 10 hospitals in the next three years, per the announcement. The goal is to make the company a $2-billion healthcare enterprise by 2035.

In 2024, AC Health posted a 10% revenue growth to 9.4 billion pesos (about $169 million). Its provider group under Healthway Medical Network saw a revenue growth of 22%.
