  • Taimoor Labib, Founding Partner, Head of MENA and Chairman of Africa, Affirma Capital

Taimoor Labib is a Founding Partner at Affirma Capital and Head of the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) Private Equity and Chairman of Africa Private Equity. He is based in Dubai. Before Affirma Capital, Taimoor was Head of Africa & Middle East Private Equity business for Standard Chartered Private Equity investing and overseeing an approximately $1.5 billion direct investment portfolio in leading companies across sectors throughout Africa and the Middle East.


  • Amit Kunal, Managing Partner, Growtheum Capital Partners

Amit is the Managing Partner at Growtheum Capital Partners. Previously, Amit was the Managing Director and Head of Direct Investment Group, Southeast Asia, at GIC where he led private equity investments in Southeast Asia. Amit was also a Investment Committee Member at GIC’s Private Equity group and co-led the ASEAN Business Group. Prior to GIC, he served as a Vice President in the Investment Banking Group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Singapore and in New York. Amit obtained his MBA in Finance and Accounting from Kelley School of Business, Indiana University (Beta Gamma Sigma) and Bachelor of Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (First in Class).


  • Omar Mahmoud​, Managing Director, Creador Private Equity

Omar is Managing Director at Creador, as well as Country Head for the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. His key focus is to identify new investments for Creador as it looks to expand its geographical coverage across Southeast Asia. He is a member of the Creador Investment Committee and is also responsible for fundraising at the firm.

Prior to joining Creador, Omar was Managing Director & Country Head of Global Banking at HSBC Malaysia. In his 15-year tenure with the bank, he worked in various roles across Hong Kong, Japan and Korea, in addition to Scandinavia, the UK and Ireland. He also spent three years working in HSBC’s Specialised Finance department in London, structuring debt finance transactions for Private Equity buyouts across Europe. Omar is a qualified barrister, called to the bar at the Inner Temple, London. He has two degrees: one in Law from the University of Northumbria, Newcastle, and one in Finance from the University of Manchester. Outside of work, Omar is passionate about music and plays a variety of sports. He is also an avid traveller and is constantly exploring new places to try different types of food and wine.


  • Philip Hu, Founding Member & Managing Director, Primavera Capital

Philip is a Founding Member and Managing Director of Primavera Capital. He sits on the Leadership Committee, Investment Committees, Strategic Partnerships Committee, Portfolio Management Committee, Sustainability Committee, Operations Committee, Risk Committee, among others. His board experience has been across for-profit and non-profit sectors. Prior to Primavera, he held positions in investment banking based in Hong Kong and in a hedge fund based in San Francisco. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University. Globally, Primavera Capital manages $20 billion in AUM with 100+ portfolio companies and 100+ professionals across PE, VC, and Credit strategies.


  • Dickson Loo, Managing Director, Private Equity, SeaTown Holdings International

Dickson is a Managing Director at SeaTown and is responsible for investments in private equity.

Prior to joining SeaTown, Dickson spent 14 years at Temasek where he held various roles including Director of Investments in the transport and logistics sector team as well as the Southeast Asia market team. During his time at Temasek, Dickson led many private equity and public equity investments as well as privatization, restructuring and divestments. In 2017, he was seconded to SMRT Corporation Ltd as Head of Strategy, Enterprise Risk and Investments. Before joining Temasek, Dickson was a consultant in Marakon Associates and an engineering consultant based in London.

Dickson holds a Masters of Engineering in Aerospace from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London.


  • Alex Yang, Managing Partner and head of Greater China and Southeast Asia, Brookfield’s Private Equity Group

Alex Yang is a Managing Partner and head of Greater China and Southeast Asia for Brookfield’s Private Equity Group and he also leads the Infrastructure Group in Greater China. He is responsible for the origination, execution and operation of investments in the region. Prior to joining Brookfield in 2021, Mr. Yang held senior positions for a couple of global private equity groups based in Hong Kong and Beijing. Prior to those, Mr. Yang held positions in New York in investment banking and practiced as a private equity attorney in Chicago in a global law firm. Mr. Yang holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Minnesota Law School, a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Law degree from Peking University in China.


  • Namrata Singh, Investments Principal, Clime Capital

Namrata is an Investments Principal with Clime Capital. She is an investment professional with 13 years of experience across emerging markets including India and South-East Asia. Namrata has invested across sectors including Clean Energy (solar, energy storage and alternative fuels) and Technology (IT services).

In her previous role, Namrata was a Vice President with the private equity team at Everstone Capital, an alternative asset manager with USD 7 Bn of assets under management. In this role, she was involved in several cross-border private equity transactions. Namrata was previously a Senior Manager with Tata Group, the largest Indian conglomerate. She was responsible for venture capital investing in the clean technology sector.

Namrata holds an MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur in India, and a Bachelor’s (Honours) in Mathematics from St. Stephen’s College, India.
