Indian fintech firm KreditBee turns unicorn with $280m funding

India’s KreditBee said on Wednesday it has raised $280 million in a fresh funding round, valuing the fintech firm at $1.5  billion, as it prepares for an initial public offering.

The funding round was led by Motilal Oswal Alternates, Hornbill Capital, and MUFG-backed Dragon Funds. WhiteOak Capital, A.P. Moller Holding, and existing investors, including Premji Invest and Advent International, also participated in the round.

The fresh capital will be used to expand the company’s lending portfolio, deepen its presence across key markets, and strengthen its technology platform.

The company plans to scale up its artificial intelligence-driven capabilities to improve risk assessment, underwriting precision and personalised offerings.

KreditBee has more than 18 million loan customers and facilitated over 60 million loans across India, as of March 2026. It has assets under management of $1.5 billion.
