Heightened tensions between India and Pakistan could cast a shadow over dealmaking activity, prompting a more cautious stance in the near term.

In the wee hours of May 7—a fortnight after a terrorist attack on civilians in Kashmir’s Pahalgam—India launched an airstrike in Pakistan territory, targeting suspected militant camps.
