Japan’s Kansai Transmission and Distribution has entered the Indian energy market by acquiring a 10% stake in OMC Power. Separately, used-car marketplace CARS24 has acquired automotive utility platform Vehicle Info from Vasundhara Infotech.
Japan’s KTD acquires stake in OMC Power
Kansai Transmission and Distribution, a utility company headquartered in Japan, has entered the Indian energy market by acquiring a 10% stake in OMC Power, per media reports.
The deal comes as OMC Power expands its renewable portfolio in the country and works towards building a 1 gigawatt (GW) capacity in India.
OMC Power also counts Mitsui & Co., Chubu Electric Power, and Honda Motor Co. Ltd. among its backers from Japan.
With the latest investment, the combined shareholding of Japanese companies in OMC Power has risen to around 67%.
OMC Power provides solar-based energy solutions to sectors such as telecom, MSMEs, healthcare, and rural communities to support sustainable and reliable power access.
CARS24 buys Vehicle Info
Used-car marketplace CARS24 has acquired automotive utility platform Vehicle Info from Vasundhara Infotech, a Surat-based company, as it looks to expand its operations in the country.
CARS24 is understood to be ramping up its digital services for vehicle owners ahead of a potential market debut.
The acquisition is the latest in a series of strategic deals by CARS24 as it moves to position itself as a full-stack vehicle ownership platform.
Earlier this year, the company bought vehicle management app CarInfo. Prior to that, it acquired automotive content and community forum Team-BHP in April 2025.
