Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) taxi operator Green SM and Indonesia’s GoTo-owned on-demand services platform Gojek announced a strategic collaboration on Thursday with the launch of the GoGreen SM service on the Gojek app.
The initiative expands access to environmentally friendly transportation options, aligning with Indonesia’s national agenda to combat air pollution and reduce carbon emissions.
“We aim to offer greater convenience to Green SM users and driver partners by providing reliable and eco-friendly transportation services through Gojek, a well-known and highly accessible platform,” said Deny Tjia, Managing Director of Green SM Indonesia.
“Green SM believes that collaboration with local players like Gojek is essential in building an inclusive and sustainable national transportation system that benefits society. This partnership not only simplifies the booking experience but also broadens Green SM’s reach through Gojek’s extensive user base. It represents a step forward in transforming urban mobility and supporting green economic growth in Indonesia,” he added.
Steven Halim, Head of Transport at Gojek, also highlighted the significance of partnership, “Our collaboration with Green SM makes it even easier for people to access a wide range of mobility options through the Gojek app. It reflects the growing demand for convenient and sustainable transport solutions that reduce environmental impact and align with the evolving expectations of today’s urban consumers.”
Green SM was launched at the end of last year and has already hit the roads in Jakarta, with plans to expand to other cities in Indonesia. The EV taxi service competes with one of Indonesia’s major taxi companies, Blue Bird, which has extensively collaborated with Gojek.
