Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC has backed the $13 billion Series F funding round of Anthropic, the artificial intelligence startup behind Claude AI, according to an announcement.

GIC joined a group of global investors, led by ICONIQ and co-anchored by Fidelity Management and Lightspeed Venture Partners, in the round that values the AI company at $183 billion post-money.

Other major investors in the round included Altimeter, Baillie Gifford, affiliated funds of BlackRock, Blackstone, Coatue, D1 Capital Partners, General Atlantic, General Catalyst, and Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives.

Insight Partners, Jane Street, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, Qatar Investment Authority, TPG, T. Rowe Price Associates, T. Rowe Price Investment Management, WCM Investment Management, and XN also participated.

The fundraising comes as Anthropic, founded in 2021 by former OpenAI researcher, including CEO Dario Amodei, reports rapid revenue acceleration since launching Claude in March 2023.

The company’s run-rate revenue grew from about $1 billion at the start of 2025 to more than $5 billion by August, making it one of the fastest-growing technology firms.

Anthropic said it now serves over 300,000 business customers, with large accounts rising nearly sevenfold in the past year.

“This financing demonstrates investors’ extraordinary confidence in our financial performance and the strength of their collaboration with us to continue fueling our unprecedented growth,” said Krishna Rao, chief financial officer at Anthropic.

Proceeds from the Series F will be used to expand enterprise capacity, deepen research into safety and interpretability, and support global expansion.

The company said its focus on alignment and model reliability has been central to adoption among corporate users handling mission-critical applications.

Anthropic’s developer tool Claude Code, launched in May 2025, has generated over $500 million in yearly revenue with usage growing more than tenfold in three months, the company said.

“We are seeing exponential growth in demand across our entire customer base,” Rao added.

ICONIQ partner Divesh Makan said the investment reflected long-term confidence in Anthropic’s leadership and technology strategy.

“Enterprise leaders tell us Claude is reliable, built on a trustworthy foundation, and guided by a team focused on the long term,” Makan.
