Singapore-based PE firm EMIA invests in MyStorage

Singapore-based private equity fund manager Emerging Markets Investment Advisers (EMIA) has invested in MyStorage, a Vietnam self-storage industry company, according to an announcement.

The investment, made through EMIA’s ASEAN Frontier Markets Fund (AFMF), will fuel MyStorage’s expansion and solidify its market leadership in the rapidly growing sector. The investment amount was not disclosed.

MyStorage operates four strategically located facilities across HCMC and Dong Nai Province, offering over 4,600 cubic meters of storage space, including nearly 300 climate-controlled self-storage units.

The company offers its services to individuals, businesses, and international visitors seeking storage solutions for their personal belongings, seasonal items, or household goods, and enables businesses to manage inventory, archive documents, or safeguard equipment without the cost and commitment of additional real estate.

Beyond space, MyStorage is transforming the storage industry by empowering Vietnamese consumers and SMEs with smart, secure, and hassle-free solutions.

The new capital from EMIA will accelerate MyStorage’s growth trajectory, supporting facility expansion, customer base growth, and operational enhancements.

A key focus will be the development of advanced digital tools and the implementation of an Environmental & Social (E&S) management system, reinforcing MyStorage’s alignment with international standards and creating long-term value for all stakeholders.

MyStorage aims to build a nationwide footprint and extend its presence across the Mekong region.

Established in 2009, EMIA is an ASEAN-frontier private equity fund manager, registered in Singapore and committed to building innovative, transparent, and sustainable businesses in Southeast Asia.

Vingroup establishes VinMetal steel making company

Vingroup has established VinMetal Joint Stock Company for Manufacturing and Trading, marking its official entry into the metallurgy sector as part of an expansion of its industrials & technology pillar.

VinMetal will primarily serve the internal material demands of Vingroup’s manufacturing ecosystem while supporting the development of Vietnam’s heavy industry.

The company is kicking off operations with an initial investment of 10 trillion dong ($380 million) to develop a high-tech steel production complex in Vung Ang, Ha Tinh. The first phase of the project is designed to deliver an annual capacity of around 5 million tonnes.

The company will focus on producing steel products for civil construction, including hot-rolled steel, high-strength steel, and specialised alloy steels for electric vehicles and high-speed transportation infrastructure.

Its flagship products will include high-quality sheet steel and stamped automotive body steel, as well as international-standard rails and structural steel for bridges, ports, and railways, targeting import substitution and future exports to regional markets.
