Dodla Dairy acquires Osam for $31.5m

South India-based Dodla Dairy on Friday announced that it has fully acquired Osam Dairy in an all-cash deal worth approximately $31.5 million (Rs 271 crore). The acquisition aims to strengthen Dodla’s footprint in the eastern Indian market.

Founded in 2012, Osam Dairy operates primarily in Eastern India, focusing on the procurement, processing, and distribution of milk and dairy products across Bihar, Jharkhand, and neighboring markets, per a press statement.

Osam Dairy claims to have a procurement network with more than 25,000 dairy farmers, processing approximately 1.1 lakh litres of milk daily through its 1,000 collection and 19 chilling centres.

“This strategic move underscores our commitment to becoming a Pan-India dairy company,” said Sunil Reddy, Managing Director, Dodla Dairy.

InCred Capital acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Osam Dairy and its shareholders on the acquisition.

Udaan acquires ShopKirana

B2B e-commerce unicorn Udaan on Friday announced that it acquired retail-tech startup ShopKirana in an all-stock deal.

With this deal, Info Edge becomes a shareholder in Udaan.

The acquisition will complement the platform’s leadership across core categories, including staples, FMCG and hotel, restaurant, and catering (HoReCa), Udaan said.

Founded in 2015, ShopKirana empowers Indian retailers, particularly kirana stores, by providing a streamlined supply chain and access to technology. Currently, the platform enjoys a presence in tier-2 and tier-3 cities such as Indore, Bhopal, Lucknow, Agra, Surat, and Meerut.
