Sovereign wealth fund Danantara Indonesia is planning a global bond issue next year, most likely with US dollar-denominated debt although renminbi-denominated bonds would be considered, fund official Ali Setiawan said on Friday.
He did not give an amount for the planned bond sale, but said Danantara was in the process of getting preliminary ratings from credit rating agencies.
The sovereign fund raised 50 trillion rupiah ($3 billion) through a sale of “Patriot” bonds in October.
Danantara had planned to issue an additional 12 trillion rupiah of the Patriot bonds this week, but the sale has been delayed and will be held before the end of the year, Ali said.
