Singapore-based CS Capital Investment has completed the acquisition of a 26.3% stake in Philippine-listed Citystate Savings Bank, while farm-to-fork Indian startup KisanKonnect has raised $8 million in a fresh funding round led by Bajaj Finserv Group.
CS Capital picks 26% stake in PH lender Citystate Savings Bank
Philippine-listed Citystate Savings Bank Inc said that Singapore-based CS Capital Investment Pte has completed its acquisition of a 26.3% stake in the lender for 750 million pesos ($12.9 million).
CS Capital bought 43.4 million shares from a group of shareholders, including Aliw Broadcasting Corp and Top Ventures Investment & Management.
The bank said the deal will give it access to CS Capital’s parent, Hong Kong-listed CSC Holdings Ltd, which has a diversified portfolio of financial services and technology resources.
Following the transaction, Citystate Savings Bank appointed finance veterans Or Ching Fai and Chow Man Wai, Tony, to its board, citing their experience in compliance and risk management.
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas approved the deal on June 2, 2025. As of end-June 2024, Citystate Savings Bank reported total assets of 6.3 billion pesos and common equity of 1.13 billion pesos.
Citystate Savings Bank is a listed licensed bank in the Philippines that offers services such as deposit products and services, cash management, corporate and retail banking, and treasury services, among others.
Bajaj Finserv leads funding in KisanKonnect
Omnichannel farm-to-fork startup KisanKonnect has raised nearly $8 million (Rs 72 crore) in its pre-Series A funding round led by Bajaj Finserv Group.
The financing was also joined by Mistry Ventures, Desai Foods, Dhanuka Agritech, and Action Tessa Family Office.
The startup will use the funds to strengthen its technology infrastructure and supply chain, expand its presence both online and offline, and further develop its network of farmers, per media reports.
Founded by Vivek and Nidhi Nirmal in202, KisanKonnect sources directly from farmers and phygitally delivers to more than 1 lakh customers in Mumbai and Pune through its own app and farm stores. The platform works closely with farmers’ community to grow food sustainably, while leveraging its in-house built technology to deliver fresh vegetables and fruits.
