Circulate Capital appoints Indonesia head

Singapore impact investor firm Circulate Capital has appointed Dondi Hananto as an associate investment partner for Southeast Asia and head of Indonesia.

Rob Kaplan, CEO of Circulate Capital, said in a statement: “With Dondi’s [Hananto] extensive experience and on-the-ground knowledge, we’re well-positioned to expand our footprint in Indonesia through further investments, drive growth for our portfolio companies, and execute successful exits.”

With 25 years of experience in banking and venture capital, Hananto has held leadership roles at HSBC, Bank Danamon, Sampoerna Strategic, Kinara Indonesia, and Patamar Capital as a partner to lead investments across the region. He also serves as a board member of the Indonesia Impact Alliance, a network dedicated to mobilising capital for high-impact investors.

In his new role, Hananto will lead Circulate Capital’s Indonesia investment strategy, driving the circular economy and strengthening local engagement.

Since its launch in 2019, Circulate Capital has built the largest investment portfolio in South and Southeast Asia dedicated to tackling plastic pollution. It has made investments in Indonesia such as Prevented Ocean Plastic (POP) Southeast Asia, a plastic waste collection firm; Tridi Oasis, a women-led PET recycling firm (exited in 2022 after a joint venture with ALBA Asia); and Reciki, an MRF operator (Circulate Capital exited in Dec 2024 following a strategic partnership).

Tackling plastic waste could unlock $9.3 billion in annual economic value in Indonesia. With collection initiatives dating back 30 years and a recycling industry established over the past two decades, the sector is primed for consolidation.

Market maturity and the receptiveness of capital markets, evidenced by more than a dozen converters listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), position Indonesia as a critical growth market.

The Parentinc names group CFO

SG-based digital parenting platform The Parentinc has named Dinesh Uruthiramoorthy as the group’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to strengthen its financial strategy amid rapid expansion.

As group CFO, Uruthiramoorthy will oversee financial operations and strategy, supporting the company’s growth in retail, distribution, and direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands. With leadership experience from Multiplier, Carousell, and Singtel Group, he has played a key role in securing over $1 billion in fundraising, acquisitions, and capital restructuring.

Dinesh Uruthiramoorthy / The Parentinc

Uruthiramoorthy expressed excitement about joining The Parentinc, stating that its mission to support young families deeply resonates with him. Group CEO & Founder Roshni Mahtani Cheung emphasised that his leadership will be instrumental in scaling operations and ensuring long-term financial sustainability.

The Parentinc has established itself as a digital parenting platform driven by its flagship D2C brand: Mama’s Choice—offering high-quality, safe, halal, and affordable products across skincare, hair care, and feeding essentials for Southeast Asia’s families and Little Rei—a sub-brand which focuses on sustainable nursery, feeding, and bath products.

Its core D2C business is further powered by media platforms theAsianparent and motherswork, a key retail and distribution arm which enables a wide range of both in-house and global third-party brands.

Dinesh’s initial priorities include enhancing financial infrastructure, refining processes, and driving expansion efforts, positioning The Parentinc for continued growth in the Southeast Asian mom-and-baby market.
