Cloud kitchen startup Bigspoon Foods Pvt. Ltd Tuesday announced that it has raised about $12.9 million (Rs 100 crore) in its Series A funding round led by Indian Angel Network.
The round also saw the participation of NB Ventures, Go-Ventures, Lets Venture, Grip Invest and Anicut Capital along with actor Mouni Roy, the startup said in a statement.
The startup will utilise the freshly raised funds to expand to over 250 kitchens across 75 cities across India, add brands in top categories, hire for leadership positions, invest in technology for clients, and backward integration for effective production and supply chain, the statement added.
Founded by Kapil Mathrani and Poojan Thakkar in 2019, Bigspoon is a multi-brand omnichannel cloud kitchen startup that is focused on tier-II cities. The startup currently operates across 80 kitchens across 35 cities and claims to cater to over 150,000 diners every month.
