Vietnam’s VinVentures has invested in LIVEN Technology, while Cambodia’s clean water provider Khmer Water Supply Holding has closed an equity round.
VinVentures invests in wedding services provider LIVEN Technology
VinVentures, the venture capital fund backed by Vietnamese behemoth Vingroup, has announced its investment in LIVEN Technology.
LIVEN provides technology solutions for individual users and businesses operating in the event and wedding sector.
The seed funding will be used by LIVEN to scale operations, enhance technological capabilities, and expand its domestic market presence.
The company is also planning regional expansion, with a focus on the destination wedding segment – a rapidly growing trend among urban millennials throughout Southeast Asia.
Founded in 2022, LIVEN Technology’s offerings include Your Wedding Planner, an intelligent planning platform; VDES.vn, an e-commerce marketplace connecting venues and service providers; and Marry.vn, a wedding media platform.
Last year, Vingroup launched VinVentures, its new $150-million venture capital fund to target startups in Vietnam and the broader Southeast Asian region.
Cambodia’s clean water provider KWSH raises new round
Khmer Water Supply Holding (KWSH), a provider of clean, piped water to underserved rural communities in Cambodia, has raised equity funding from Japan’s integrated trading and investment business conglomerate Marubeni Corporation and others. Existing backer Insitor Partners made a follow-on investment.
KWSH plans to deploy the new funds to expand existing stations and increase household connections, acquire new licenses in underserved rural provinces, strengthen service standards, and operational capacity across its network.
The previous investment of $2.3 million by InfraCo Asia enabled the expansion of 600km of new pipeline and helped set the stage for this equity round.
