Climate Capital invests in SG startup Ampotech

Singapore-based venture capital and private equity firm Clime Capital has announced its investment in energy management firm Ampotech through its Southeast Asia Clean Energy Fund II (SEACEF II).

Clime Capital did not disclose the amount it invested in Ampotech but said the fresh funding will be used to support the startup’s expansion in Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

Ampotech is an energy management company that helps businesses improve energy efficiency and the performance of distributed energy resources, like solar rooftops, with AI-enabled Internet of Things (AIoT) solutions, Ampotech CEO William Temple told DealStreetAsia.

The startup’s integrated platform offers cost, performance, and cybersecurity advantages over off-the-shelf products, enabling rapid support and reconfiguration as customer needs evolve.

It is hard to make existing commercial buildings and factories greener, due to the cost and complexity of retrofitting, Temple said.

“We spent years developing a modular AIoT solution to make energy analytics and efficiency technology accessible to any building, regardless of size, age, or usage,” he added.

The investment, Temple added, will enable Ampotech to significantly expand its office in Vietnam and enter new markets in Southeast Asia.

Clime Capital now joins Ampotech’s investor roster, which includes SEEDS Capital, Earth Venture Capital, and Silicon Solution Ventures Private Limited, among others.

SEEDS Capital enlists 20 partners, targets $221m in deep tech funding

SEEDS Capital, the investment arm of Enterprise Singapore, announced that it has appointed 20 new local and global partners to co-invest in deep tech startups.

The goal is to catalyse at least S$300 million (about $221 million) in new financing, with SEEDS deploying S$150 million over three years under the Startup SG Equity scheme. The scheme focuses on areas including advanced manufacturing, agrifood tech, medtech, and sustainability.

The latest appointments bring SEEDS’s co-investor network to 52, providing early-growth investment capabilities and international connections.

New partners such as East Ventures, Global Brain, HIVEN, and Valuence Ventures are expected to help startups access overseas markets, including Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, and the United States.

SEEDS Chairman Cindy Khoo welcomed growing interest from venture funds and established firms, saying it would boost Singapore’s deep tech sector. Nearly S$3 billion has been invested in over 330 startups under Startup SG Equity to date, SEEDS said.
