Singapore VC firm 1982 Ventures has appointed James Kim as an operating partner, while the food and grocery delivery platform foodpanda has named Aditi Sharma as its new managing director.

Early-stage venture capital firm 1982 Ventures has named James Kim as an operating partner

Kim will be based in Singapore. He is a managing director at Accenture and leads its software & platforms industry practice in the growth markets (including Asia Pacific and Latin America). He also serves as the portfolio leader for the Southeast Asia practice.

With over 20 years of experience in the technology industry, Kim brings a wealth of expertise in digital transformation, strategy, and operations to the portfolio companies of 1982 Ventures. He will play a key role in supporting the firm’s portfolio companies across various aspects, including go-to-market strategy, scaling operations, and building partnerships.

“James’s deep understanding of the technology landscape, combined with his proven track record of success in helping companies scale, will be invaluable to our portfolio companies as they navigate their growth journeys,” said Herston Powers, founding managing partner, 1982 Ventures.

Kim has had a stint as an MD at Google, where he led the tech giant’s Asia Pacific Channel Partners business.

foodpanda names new managing director

Singaporean food and grocery delivery platform foodpanda has appointed Aditi Sharma as its new managing director.

In this role, Sharma will oversee all aspects of foodpanda’s Singapore operations with a focus on enhancing customer experiences, empowering merchant and delivery partners, and driving industry innovation, the company said.

Prior to joining foodpanda, Aditi was the co-founder, chief operating officer, and chief financial officer of Grow Commerce, an omnichannel brands platform that enables consumer brands to achieve exponential growth.

She brings over 15 years of experience in technology, consulting and e-commerce, spanning venture building, transformation and strategic partnerships across Southeast Asia and India.
