Finfra secures ADB Ventures investment through NextFin Asia
Indonesian lending-as-a-service startup Finfra has secured an investment from ADB Ventures through NextFin Asia, marking the first investment from the fund set up to back fintech companies participating in the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology’s (LHoFT) Catapult: Inclusion SE Asia accelerator programme.
The investment forms part of Finfra’s Series A extension and also includes participation from existing investors Cento Ventures and Accion Ventures. The companies did not disclose the size of the investment.
The capital will support Finfra’s business expansion, technology development and entry into new markets, LHoFT said in an announcement on Friday.
Launched in February 2026, NextFin Asia is a partnership between LHoFT, ADB Ventures, the venture capital arm of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and Luxembourg’s Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade. The fund backs early-stage technology companies working to improve financial inclusion across Southeast Asia.
Finfra participated in LHoFT’s Catapult: Inclusion SE Asia programme in 2024 before becoming the first company to receive investment through the fund.
Founded in 2022, Finfra provides lending infrastructure that enables financial institutions and digital platforms to launch and manage credit products without building their own lending operations. Its platform covers loan origination, underwriting, servicing and collections, as well as risk analytics and access to institutional funding.
Akulaku restructures Indonesia ops under new holding company
PT Akulaku Capital Indonesia (ACI), part of Akulaku Group, has secured approval from Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) to become a non-operating financial conglomerate holding company, paving the way for a restructuring of the group’s financial services businesses.
The company announced the approval in a statement on Oct. 29. Under the planned structure, ACI will act as the parent company and controlling entity of Bank Neo Commerce, Akulaku Finance Indonesia, Pintar Inovasi Digital, and PT Inovasi Kredit Indonesia.
The approval is part of Akulaku Group’s efforts to reorganise its financial services entities in Indonesia in accordance with OJK Regulation No. 30/2024 on Financial Conglomerates and Financial Conglomerate Holding Companies.
As a non-operating holding company, ACI will oversee the group’s financial services entities but will not offer financial products or services directly to the public. Its responsibilities will include coordinating governance, risk management, and capital management across the group.
“We appreciate OJK’s approval for ACI to act as the non-operating PIKK for Akulaku Group’s financial services entities in Indonesia. Through this role, ACI will strengthen coordination and the integrated implementation of governance and risk management,” Mukti Wibowo, president director of ACI, said in the company’s statement.
Following the approval, ACI will proceed with the acquisition of shares in BNC, AFI, PID and IKI, which are currently held by Akulaku Silvrr Indonesia. The company said the transactions would be carried out in accordance with applicable procedures and requirements.
The planned transfer of ownership means the OJK approval does not, by itself, indicate that ACI has completed the acquisition of the four entities.
The restructuring will bring the group’s banking, financing and digital lending businesses under a single holding structure. Akulaku said the arrangement is intended to improve coordination across its financial services operations and expand access to financial services in Indonesia.
