Bank of America has appointed Tetsu Kameyama as co-head of its Japan financial institutions group investment banking business alongside Kenichiro Suzuki, according to a memo reviewed by Reuters.

Kameyama, who is based in Tokyo, will report to Yuta Komori and Akihiko Manaka, co-heads of Japan investment banking, and to Michael Evans, head of Asia-Pacific financial institutions group investment banking, the memo said.

Kameyama joined Bank of America in 2006 and has advised Japanese banks and insurers on mergers, acquisitions and fundraising deals, the memo said.

Suzuki has led the bank’s Japan financial institutions business and helped build client relationships and advisory work in the sector, it said.

The two executives will jointly lead the Japan business, which advises banks, insurers and other financial companies, the memo said.

“Together, Ken and Tetsu bring deep sector expertise and strong client relationships that position them well to lead the next phase of growth for our Japan FIG franchise,” Evans said in the memo.

Bank of America declined to comment.
