Temasek and its partners have renewed their support for a Southeast Asia climate tech programme while EnterpriseSG has launched a new startup expansion initiative.

Temasek, Breakthrough Energy renew climate tech programme

Temasek, Breakthrough Energy, and Enterprise Singapore have renewed their support for the Breakthrough Energy Fellows-Southeast Asia programme for three years.

The renewal extends funding and commercialisation support to climate technology startups through 2030, according to a joint announcement.

The programme will support three new cohorts from 2028 to 2030, with participating innovators eligible for up to $500,000 in funding, alongside technical mentorship and access to industry partners, investors, and government agencies.

Olam Agri, Pertamina New & Renewable Energy, and ExpresSo NB, the venture arm of Thailand’s PTT, have joined as corporate partners, providing access to funding, pilot sites, and industry expertise to accelerate commercial deployment.

Launched in 2024, the programme has funded 12 companies across Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand developing technologies in clean fuels, plastic recycling, alternative battery materials, and climate resilience.

In August, fellow CRecTech signed an agreement with Pertamina NRE to develop Indonesia’s first biogas-to-biomethanol demonstration plant in Sumatra.

EnterpriseSG launches new startup expansion initiatives

Enterprise Singapore has unveiled new initiatives and partnerships to help Singapore-based startups develop, test, and commercialise technologies, while expanding into overseas markets.

Announced at the Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology 2026, the measures include expanding the Global Innovation Alliance to provide startups access to technology testing and validation facilities at Bakar Labs in the United States.

Enterprise Singapore also introduced an accelerator programme with Lenovo and a partnership with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to support two-way startup expansion between Singapore and Japan. The announcements were made by Singapore Energy and Industry Minister Tan See Leng at the event.

The initiatives target different stages of startup growth, from technology validation, and industry collaboration to international market access.
