Singapore-headquartered water treatment firm SG Enviro has closed its Series A funding round, as it looks to scale its water treatment and recycling solutions across Southeast Asia.
The round was backed by Emerald Ventures and SEEDS, which operates under SG Growth Capital, the investment platform of the Singapore Economic Development Board and Enterprise Singapore. The company did not disclose the size of the funding.
DATA VANTAGE reported last month that the firm received an additional S$1.8 million ($1.4 million) from SEEDS Capital.
SG Enviro said the proceeds will be used to expand its core technologies and solutions across the region, particularly in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia, while supporting its planned entry into Thailand. The capital will also go towards its talent pipeline and strategic partnerships.
With the fresh funds, the company is also looking to expand into data centres, semiconductors, and pharmaceuticals, sectors where water use, wastewater treatment, and sustainable utilities are becoming increasingly important as industrial capacity grows across the region.
“We hope to leverage SEEDS’s extensive networks and expertise and hopefully collaborate with fellow synergistic portfolio companies to unlock growth opportunities. We believe the investment will catalyse our expansion into Southeast Asia and the fast-growing Industrial Wastewater Treatment sector,” Guah Eng Hock, Founder and CEO of SG Enviro, said in the statement.
Founded in 2018, SG Enviro provides industrial water and wastewater engineering services across the project lifecycle, from design and build to integration, operations, and maintenance, and the retrofitting of aging facilities.
Its clients are industries such as oil and gas, palm oil, food and beverage, and anaerobic digestion, where tightening environmental requirements are pushing companies to upgrade legacy infrastructure.
“SG Enviro’s advanced wastewater treatment expertise plays an important role in supporting Singapore’s growing industrial sector while driving its regional expansion. SEEDS Capital is an ideal partner, bringing strong local support capabilities and extensive Southeast Asian reach that will create significant value for the company and contribute to a cleaner environment,” Dr. Helge Daebel, Head of Emerald’s Water Practice and appointed member of SGE’s Board, said.
The firm last raised funding in 2025, where it secured $8 million in funding from Emerald Technology Ventures to strengthen its presence in Malaysia and Indonesia.
