LightFury Games raises $11m funding

LightFury Games (LFG), a AAA-focused game-tech studio, has raised $11 million in its pre-Series A funding round from Blume Ventures, V3 Ventures, MIXI, and Times Internet, along with strategic investments from leading Indian cricketers.

Some of the big names in the world of cricket—MS Dhoni, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, along with Shreyas Iyer, Ravindra Jadeja, Tilak Varma and Sai Sudharsan—have also joined the round as investors, the startup said in a statement.

The fresh capital will be primarily deployed to complete game development and strengthen its live operations (live ops) capabilities, the statement added.

Founded in 2024 by Karan Shroff, Anurag Banerjee, and Tina Balachandran, LightFury Games is a game-tech studio focused on developing AAA gaming experiences. The founding team brings experience from working on more than 40 AAA titles.

With cricket commanding a global audience estimated to be over 2.5 billion, LightFury aims to address a significant gap in the sports gaming category by delivering a technically advanced, competitive, and live-service-driven cricket e-game franchise from India.

Omnivore leads $5.5m funding in STCH

STCH, an AI-native CDMO platform focused on sustainable textile innovation, has raised $5.5 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Omnivore, an agrifood and climate-focused venture capital firm.

The round also included participation from Kae Capital and WVC.

Founded by Narahari Payala and Aseem Chitkara, STCH uses AI to analyse global fashion trends, develop sustainable fabrics, and supply them through a manufacturing network spanning India and Asia. It has built an order book of over $15 million across markets, including the UK, US, Europe, and India, working with brands such as Roman, Joe Browns, Shein, Crocodile, Being Human, CP Brands, and Rainforest.

The capital from the pre-Series A funding round will be used to expand STCH’s AI capabilities, build a fabric R&D laboratory, deepen mill partnerships across India, and accelerate delivery to global fashion brands, the startup said in a statement.
