Startups founded or co-founded by women in India bagged $1.08 billion in funding in 2023, accounting for a 9.25% share of all private capital raised by startups in the country last year against 13% in 2022.
Startups founded solely by women raised $50.1 million, or a mere 0.4% of total funding bagged by private companies in 2023. In comparison, companies founded solely by women raised $154.8 million in 2022, accounting for a 0.6% share in the total funding raised by startups in the year. The share was lower at 0.25% in 2021.
